Awesome community! I have lurked here for years.

I only have a wax spreader, but plan on getting some type of buffer eventually. I do love Meguiars Products from my experiences, I may branch out to the other brands as well, in the same price range.

Quick Glass care question: I just bought a used 2003 Dark Blue GMC Yukon SLT that had a roof rack that rusted, dripped and left rust stains on the right side windows. How do I remove it? I tried CLR with a sponge, it worked a little bit, but I don't want it to ruin the paint.

You could try IronX or a similar product.

I may try that or just use some elbow grease with the CLR? Is it safe to use a non/scratching 3m type scour pad on glass?

Yes, you can use a scouring pad on glass.

You can try clay on the rust stains too. Would say don't let the CLR dry on the paint if you do use it, and rinse it well.

I would try the above suggestions first, but if those don't work just go at it with some glass polish or compound and some good 'ol elbow grease

If Meguiar's M04, on a terry cloth
towel, doesn't remove the rust stains...
try some Whink rust & stain remover.

Iron X as noted previously should do it. let it sit then srub it in with a magic eraser from the grocery isle. They work great on glass.

If you do end up polishing it, Ceriglass with a rayon pad works amazingly well on a DA buffer. I've removed light wiper trail scratches and etched in gunk that settled into the rear wiper on our minivan. Wash it off good, apply some McKee's Glass Coating and enjoy watching your wipers glide by like they are on wet ice
