What do you use to keep track of your scheduling?
I have been using a plain Jane appointment book for the last few years. I was wondering if anyone uses some sort of app that is maybe linked to their website or something where people can automatically sign up for an appointment from your website and it updates it on the app or something of that sort. Anything??

If you are using WordPress there are several widgets that allow a customer to book appointments.

Any that link up to your smartphone though? Like, something that alerts you when you have a booking so you don't double book

I use the regular calendar app on the iphone and it links to my ipad (although I rarely use it) and could probably set it to link with the PC too. however, you can only search for appointments a year back and newer, so if you have a once a year customer or anything longer, you can't find all the info from the past which is really annoying.
Subbing to this to see if any other better ideas are suggested.

I don't detail professionally, but I live by my Microsoft outlook calendar at work. You can pair it with your phone, include notes, tasks. Alerts, location and block out the entire time of the meeting. It will also tell you when you have a conflict.

Check out Youcanbook.me . It's a great service based in the UK. My website has it at www.XTmobileDetail.com

This year I switched to Bookeo and so far I'm liking it a lot. It is an online scheduling platform that works perfectly for detailing business of any size. Right now I'm just a one man show; however, it's nice to know that the software will scale as I add employees.
Everything was easy to setup. Customers can choose which service they want and create a reservation right online. Bookeo then sends them a confirmation email as well as adding the appointment to my Google calendar (which syncs with my phone within seconds). The customer also gets a reminder email (or text) the day before their appointment.
Once you get everything setup it all works automatically. There are tons more features that you can utilize too like creating membership packages that people can enroll in, accepting payments or deposits online when a booking is created, sending automatic thank you emails, and even integrating with email marketing platforms like Constant Contact or Mail Chimp.
