    Maintenance pricing

I have a Chevy Silverado 4 door Iam doing for maintenance once a month vacuum wipe down inside and also clean out the pet hair. Wash the outside.
I have already done the regular detail to it.

    Re: Maintenance pricing

If you have already detailed the car and you are just maintaining it, then I think $100 may be a bit steep. Unless this vehicle is very nasty each time, I would say $50 would cut it. Maybe $65, if the pet hair gets out of hand.

    Re: Maintenance pricing

Sounds like 1.5-2 hours, maybe faster if you are doing a rinseless wash. $100 is not far off at $40/hour if you also have to deal with pet hair and you are burning through product dressing a bed liner.

This is a case where you may want to give them an hourly rate and an estimate of the time you plan to take to do the work. That way if the pet hair is bad and you take an extra 30 minutes, you get paid for it, and if the car sat in the garage for a month the client isn't paying $100 for a quick wipedown.

    Re: Maintenance pricing

if the customer is okay with paying $100 than why will you change your price?

He obviously sees more value in keeping a clean truck than him wanting to keep his money for himself

    keep charging $100

for once a month around min $70-80, remeber your plan is to keep the car in maintenance longer , now if is trashed in and out all the time , than address the issue with the owner and price accordingly

    Re: Maintenance pricing

I'd discuss what the owner is comfortable with, and agree on a value that both of you feel happy to charge/pay. He might think $100 is a bargain, as the time he would need to take along with buying the materials to do it himself might outweigh your price. Alternatively, he might think $100 is ludicrous.

I personally think maintenance washing is case-sensitive, and rarely do I give a flat rate to customers who ask for that kind of service.

:agree: I start at $49.95 and go up from there mostly due to interior condition (pet hair, ect...). I've never had a customer balk at a higher price for more work on my part. They know when their car is trashed....

$100 for a wash is out of hands, even if you charge $50an hour I don't know how a basic wash can take you more then an hour to do.

    Re: Maintenance pricing

    keep it at $100

it doesn't matter what we charge or how long we take

if his customer sees value in what he's doing, the quality of service, the quality customer relationship, the trust, etc.. then the customer doesn't mind paying $100
