i meet the shark :)
i look for the section " how to not make money detailing cars" but i didn`t found it
so here we go with the story.
i work for Mr Shark once , i remove a scuff with a good deal cause it was an add on to the day, and took a few minutes, so it worth it.
well Mr Shark ask me to meet him for an chat about business.
deal , we arrange a day and we meet.
he is an old shark , he states that he is well known with a lot of friends and he can bring me clients, but he wants profit , so.. we discuss what options we have.
me , i offer an 5%-10%to him , from any first client package i sell tru him. now him ..he wants that % everytime i detail for his clients and in case this clients recomand me he still wants the % for the clients friends ..??!
i didn`t dig that , than he bring another option... to "invest" in my business and be 50/50 ) , for the record i don`t think he can shovel more than a few thousands , and he expects to be business partners 50-50....
he mention that he has to invest in drinks and food when he mets his friends, so he needs a profit... )
that was my entertainment for the day , i didn`t sign anything , and is no way i will take a partner without seeing a profit in it. and i will not pay anyone for any pyramid scam he try to set-up...
it surprise me to see how far people go for their interest...

Good thing you didn't take the deal. I am still learning the business side, but I even know this sounds ridiculous.
Thanks for sharing, someone might learn from this Cosmin.

You're too good at what you do to even entertain such an absurd offer!

I actually do something similar with business accounts.
If an account gets me another account he get 5-10% profit from every car the new account gets me.
We worth it for me.
Essential you car paying him to be you sales rep.

Ya I don't see a problem with the 5% everytime you work on people he refers to you either, it's like having a sales rep that works only on commission. But from the posts I have seen from you in the past, you seems to have no problems getting work to do, so if your Schedule is already booked, then it makes no sense to do a deal like that. On the other hand for a detailler seeking work, you get someone to sell services for you for a mere 5%, I think that is a great deal.

The 5% could be understandable. But idk about the 50/50? :/
