How long does it usually take to apply? From the videos I saw it looks pretty straightforward, very similar to applying a sealant but with less product.
Pureshine, I would agree with you most of the time except for one instance: A new car without DISO.
That is the main reason I want to offer it, to new car owners. Of course if people go for a correction then it would make sense to get a coating too.
Even 95% of new cars need paint correction cause dealers are butchers on paint. Every new car I get needs paint correction I have never seen good paint form a dealer. Not even $100k+ cars look good ever form a dealer they don't care about the paint just selling the car. Which is good for my business so I'm ok with it

Re: What to charge for applying a coating?
Unless you can get in before they work on the paint I am hoping to put together a new car package that will replace the dealer's prep work. In essence the client would tell the dealer not to touch the car and I would prep it for him including a coating. There might still be problems with the paint, anything can happen between the time the car is manufactured and the time it gets sold, I believe there is an average of 2 months between the 2... but ya... that's the plan.

I agree, I have never seen a new car that didn't need se sort of correction, and I routinely get vehicles with the plastic still on them so it isn't always the dealership. Also with a product like Finest you have to correct the paint first per the agreement with Car Pro. You should be correcting before any coating, but its a must with finest.

even if the paint is perfect you will still need to lightly polish to ensure that you are fully removing any wax or sealant applied by the dealer.

Re: What to charge for applying a coating?
All great points. Lets assume the vehicle is brand new and the paint is totally defect free, though it would be easer to find a unicorn! At the very least your still going to want to ensure a squeaky clean contaminate free surface to apply whatever type of coating and promote good bonding. At the very least I always apply a light polish and or some type of paint prep (cleaner). More often than not clay, polish, cleaner.

I charge $250 for 22PLE I probably need to raise it. Very popular service.

Re: What to charge for applying a coating?
Not all cars come perfect from the factory and will need some correcting. Here is a car I unwrapped at work today. Here is what was under the wrap meaning this section of paint hasn't been touched since leaving the factory.

Consumer version you can charge whatever you want. Pro versions will cost more and carry a warranty. The pro's know what they should be charging for these coating's.
