Approaching Buildings for Business
Good Afternoon Geeks,
Next spring, I plan to have a mobile detailing vehicle. My location is saturated with business buildings, that I'd like to generate some business from. How do I approach this? Who do I contact? What should I bring with me?
Thanks, Kieran Walsh

I think you should have a business cards and maybe a poster/flyer (professional looking ones) that give a quick breakdown of what you can do. Not sure if you should prices on it
In terms of contacting people I would just talk to the security guard if he could get you in touch with the building manager.

Your insurance card

Definitely will need proof of insurance. Just be aware a lot of businesses (mainly bigger corporations) will not allow a Detailer, mobile oil changes, etc in their parking lots. Due yo liability and water run off. At least that's how it is around here. Your better off sticking with smaller companies and banks.

Re: Approaching Buildings for Business
1. Get some professional business cards and brochures made. PROFESSIONAL.
2. Make a seperate price sheet and mass print it. That way you don't have to redo your marketing materials just because you need to change prices.
3. Talk to people, call the PR people in the buildings you are targeting and ask them before going. Even if the answer is no, it is better to know ahead of time then get ran off.
4. Get good insurance, meaning commercial auto, garage keepers liability, liability, and commercial unowned auto. I pay about $1100 a year for all of those combined.
5. Look legit. visit my website and on the front page of it you can see a picture of my rig. It is huge but it makes a mobile billboard, and makes me look instantly legitimate to potential clients.
