One comment about your Facebook page. You have 100% guarantee it is good from a customer service point of view but in my opinion bad from a detailing business point of view. I work hard and do above avarage work but I belive in a fair days work for a fair days pay. What I mean is I would not want to give up a days pay because a customer has an unrealistic exception. I always under promise and over deliver but some people can't be pleased. I detail cars. I can not "clean" worn carpets they need to be replaced. No matter how clean they are they will still be worn. I can not "clean" scratches out of vinyl they are not dirty they are damaged. Damaged leather is still damaged leather even after cleaning. You can't clean it back to new. Are you willing to accept no pay when you run into customers like this? After all you are advertising 100% satisfaction.

You bring up a very good point. The only reason I had the 100% guarantee was from viewing other websites most made that offer, so it seem to be the standard thing in the detailing business. I prefer not to make that kind of claim, I'm very proud and take pride in my work as well. Thanks again for your comment, also the like.

You can do an unspoken guarantee. Renny Doyle talks about the follow up call to make sure everything is as the customer expected. You can address any issues at that time. But, you avoid having people take advantage of the guarantee.

This is also the way I like to do it. I never set clients expectations too high.
Unless in the higher paying packages, which narrows a lot (in my opinion), the possibility of getting clients with higher expectations than what they're willing to pay for.

I also do that and I think it's a very nice way to set you apart from all others.... But you really have to mean it..... If you realize your client ended up upset about the service (and if it's nothing too exaggerated), you can offer him to bring back the car to get it according to his wishes... or offer some additional service or discount on the next service...
2 months ago I opticoated a car for a friend of mine.... in the end he wasn't very happy because his paint is very soft and opticoat wasn't fully cured, so his car got a lot of swirls on the very first wash....
I was thinking about the subject and got upset myself, I really feel for a client that don't think his money was worth it, specially on higher end packs......
So I decided to offer him a free opticoat next time he brings me his car back to detail.... but I'll make sure this time to lower his expectations about the "more scratch resistant" part... his and from everybody, because car washes are just too careless, give them a diamond and they will scratch it....
