Hiring a new guy?!?!??!?
Hey guys,
Picked up a great account this week (an extra 400 to 700 a week consistently apparently), so I am hiring another guy to help with my crazy load. My current guys pretty much fell in my lap and have been awesome..... but now I have to actually interview someone. I threw up a craigslist ad and have had a ridiculous amount of hits. Now I am wondering how I am going to interview a select few from these and not feel bad for only getting to choose one. Does this process suck for anyone else too?!?!?!?! I feel like Im gonna like all the ones that I actually interview. What do you guys do in this situation?!?!?!

Yes it sucks. I have done it. CL people are mostly bad -LOL. You will go through your share of lazys, weirdos, etc.....
DO NOT HIRE EXPERIENCED DETAILERS. Hire good character and work ethic and teach them detailing.

A kind heart is a good thing but this is business.....your business! Are you looking for a grunt or someone with some talent? Pick the best of the litter for your money but keep the information for the runners up. You'll know in three days if your original choice is a keeper or not.

I actually already deleted the ones with experience lol..... I never liked working next to people that say they use to do it a certain way or they are stuck in their way of half assing...... seen it WAY to many times in all types of work! The CL comment scares me lol.

What do you think is a good method for that..... like a week probationary period or something similar?!?!?!?
This shouldnt be this nerve racking lol.

As soon as I saw the title of this thread I thought about Anthony..how weird.
Feeling bad and business don't work. I have a conscience, but If I ran a business feeling bad for people it wouldn't go so well.
You have to try to leave your emotions out of it. If you hired everyone who applied then you would be the one applying else where due to a failing business and lack of income to pay for everyone.
Why are you so special? If they wanted to start a detailing business they can, but they chose to work for someone else and getting fired is the risk they take.

Do you have a University or College nearby? They have bulletin boards where you could post this info

They also usually have a school paper that's cheap or free to advertise in.
