Re: The Rupes UHS System - Just a few comments after using it all day...

I just used the UHS system on a 2014 Ford Escape and coated after it, btw is like a black metallic color. I will post a thread with a few pics during the week.
To be honest, this is a TRUE one step!!!!

The Escape was not neglect or badly swirl from the few washes already had on from tunnel car washes. Amazing results, this pads are awesome!!! once they soften a bit they really do what they are designed for, the finish is as good as a any regular finishing polish. just my personal opinion on my first trial.

After coated with PBL Escape looked beautiful

I'll have to count and get back to you. Studio is still under construction.

The Rupes Microfiber Pads should have the product worked over the face of the pads, like a more traditional pad priming using the product.

I did when I was at the Rupes factory in Milan, Italy but I haven't since returning to the U.S.

No. Rupes engineered the UHS gray foam pads specific to the UHS Polishing Compound. So I wouldn't recommend using it with their other foam pads and I'm pretty confident no one at Rupes will make this recommendation either.

    Good question.

I used the system this past week on a new Porsche Cayman, white. What I found was initial hardness got a lot of product sling. I turned the speed down to 3.5 and that stopped and I was able to work on most areas. The thing with this car though is that is has so many curves, that I couldn't use the UHS system on 100% of the vehicle. I actually even went back to the Yellow Rupes pad on the LHR75 for the rear areas with Menz SI1500. The areas that I did use the UHS system on really did look great. I'm not sure I am 100% sold on this, but I will try it again on my wife's Lexus to see if the less curvaceous body of the car will allow me to use it more.

Any updates on this since your first use of the UHS?

The Hudson Hornet convertible was one of the best make-overs that I experienced, Mike. Todd and you did a great job in explaining and demonstrating the system. I bought my Rupes LHR 75E (Mini) after working with the Rupes polishers and system that evening. It really works beautifully!

Hello, just try this weekend the system with the mini 12 and the 21 mk2.

the 7" never get soft, I put it on the sun and it get soft but when i get back working it turns hard again making difficult to keep the machine rotating on curved panels. at the end I found that the 4" pad when it gets saturated it stay soft all time it was more easy to work. Also found that the 7" on the mk2 will work best on speed 4. I will try the uhs again next week

Remember to let the machine and pad do the work. Don't put too much pressure/weight on the machine and you won't have any stalling problems.

Does this product stain the porous black trim found on many modern suvs?
