Re: Like New White-Walls
I thought white walls went out in about 1982...but I used to use a brillo pad on them (can't remember who gave me this tip).

A big 1950 Packard (model 2301) in the midst of a week long detailing. Which is The only one in the state. Pics will come next week.

Re: Like New White-Walls
Also... here's another way to scrub tires with or without whitewalls to get them clean. This is pretty much the only way I clean tires now days.
Best darn tire cleaning brush I've ever used!
Yep, the Porter Cable with a Cyclo brush mounted to it instead of the backing plate! Takes ALL the elbow grease out of getting old, slimy tire dressings off, blooming, (the brown residue that builds-up when antiozonants meet ozone in the air), and deteriorated dead rubber.
