Instead of you guys spending so much arguing, how about you guys spend the time you guys are talking about, educating.
(If you think I'm talking to you, then do the math)
Good Day

Re: Mike Phillips VIF or Vehicle Inspection Form
I know he's a busy man, but I requested one back on April 30 of this year and never received one. No biggie I suppose. It is a pretty hot request.

Re: Mike Phillips VIF or Vehicle Inspection Form
oh a felt like throwing in, 2 hours isn't squat for a detail. That's just basic cleaning or even what a lot call an express detail, and heck for 2 hours that's more like an exterior express detail. 5-7 hours on a full detail WITHOUT any compound or correction is what I end of spending time wise. Add 10 + hours for a good 2 step paint correction PLUS add that 5-7 hours for the rest of the actual detail. Usually 3 to 3-1/2 hours inside and 3 to 3-1/2 hours outside give or take depending on level of cleaning needed.
Do it right with a full detail + paint correction a good 2 day weekend will take care of that, for the most part. I don't charge $100 per hour. I probably don't charge enough for the time I spend on each particular vehicle, but I tend to focus on quality of work and would rather take a hit on price and spend 2 days doing a detail the right way and thorough. I want my customers to come back and spread that word of mouth about my great work.
Just my .02 cents. I charge that to look at a car before the price is discussed. I think my time is worth at least that, lol. (just kidding)
Now like hermandez said, get educated on the real process and stop arguing about something you may not fully understand.
If he does a satisfactory job for you at $70 then keep him. Otherwise realize "professional" detailers will job more than that and take a much longer time to do a car right. Some people of course just want a quickie done or whatever to make it look good, but understand when you get into cotton swabs, mini detail brushes, leaf blowers, foaming systems, 2 bucket method, carpet extractors, shampooers, compound, polishes, waxes, sealants, dressings, etc etcccccc. it takes time to do those things, the RIGHT way.
I don't think I could rush a detail inside and out and get it done in 2 hours, even cutting corners. I don't see how that's even possible, lol.
Ok not arguing with anyone, just pointing out my experiences and that .02 I mentioned. Just enjoy detailing and getting a detail and move on people!!
Sorry about my 2 page book I wrote there. Just got home from work and bored now, lol.
Oh anyone want a detail this weekend? I'm open!! Come on over!

How does one section on a one step take 5-6 minutes. If you have the right pad and the right polish. 5 to six section passes should take a minute
