It's not intended for clear coated, painted, or anodized finishes. If your wheels are uncoated and need a light polishing, P21S Polishing Soap will certainly do the trick.

Nick, do you feel p21s polishing soap can cut through oxidation like optimum metal polish? Which is stronger?

Optimum Metal Polish is going to be more abrasive. The P21S is more for light duty metal polishing.

If I'm correct...In your earlier post (#15 ) you said the new mufflers' tips were made from 304 SS.

In oxidizing environments, 304 SS will form a passivation layer of chromium oxide for "protection". Even when totally cleaned of all contaminates, 304 SS will once again go through this passivation process when exposed to an oxidizing environment.
This passivation layer is also one of the reasons for 304 SS being more corrosive (rusting) resistant. Perhaps this may be, or is, the: "some sort of clear coat or something coating" you are referencing.

Not saying your 304 isn't coated....But...There have been many attempts to apply coatings atop 304 SS. These coatings have been proven to be more porous/susceptible to heat failure, than a normally passivated 304 SS. Your tips' manufacturer knows best.

IMO...The P21S product being discussed on this thread will pose no danger to 304 SS. Neither will some other P21S products, or its cousin: S100 products.

Should you try to clean with an APC/tire cleaner to get off what you can before using this product?

If Im going to use this for my metal accent trim around doors/windows and will be taping off the surrounding paint, should I do that first before washing/claying? Or do the metal after wash/clay
