Re: Collinite #845: The Definitive How-To Guide For This Legendary Wax
Mahalo Nick!
Nice write up with detailed information, I took your suggestion and wrote down some tips and equipment I'll be needing. I'm just glad I can get this stuff locally from PakShak.
This is just in time, as I'm planning on doing my car this weekend, and it'll be the first time I'm detailing a car in a long time.
I'll be doing a white car, so looking for the haze may be difficult I think...I'll have to do some before and after pics to see if I notice any difference on a white car.
Keeping the Shiny side up and Shinning, and the Rubber side down and Sticky!
Aloha!
Woody

2 questions about 845...do you charge extra for an application of colinite 845?(use it as an upsell) And no matter what i do my bottle keeps turning into that thick chunky substance! How many times can i keep putting it on hot water before i ruin it?

So black and blue are not recommended? I was also going to use a flat pad. Why would I use a CCS pad?

It doesn't really matter. Just as long as the pad has little no cutting ability, you should be good to go. I keep my LSP pads separated by the product being used. Collinite 845, on a red CCS, BFWD on a white CCS, and WGDGPSV3 on a red hydrotech pad.

Anyone know how long to wait between coats? Also, does this wax last longer in the winter than the summer because it is carnauba based?

I was a little unsure at first at trying this wax, but after reading the reveiws I decided to try it. It does every thing it says it does. I was surprised at the results, it is a good wax for protection, I use it just before cold weather sets in. I've used WG paint sealent then put on Collinite 845 and it looks great. For the price and protection you can't beat it.

Re: Collinite #845: The Definitive How-To Guide For This Legendary Wax
Newbie here, purchased the 845, and had a few questions... Last week I washed and clayed my Toyota, then applied Meguiars Deep Crystal 3 step system (paint cleaner, polish, wax). While the car looks fantastic for now, eventually I want to apply the 845.
Not sure how long the current layer of wax will last, and want to give the 845 a try in a few weeks. Is it OK to apply the 845 directly over what is left of the Meguiars product? Is a car wash all that is needed before I apply product? If I have to reclay the car after washing, should I lay down some more of the Deep Crystal polish before applying 845?
This is a daily driver, parked outside. Thanks for any advice!
