As you will see from the attached photo, the exterior trim is a disaster. I clearly did it all wrong and did not prep it correctly. I used WG trim sealant and has collinite 845 over it too. Ugh... Any suggestions to get it back to a reasonably looking color?
Did you happen to try mothers trim cleaner on it yet? You can grab it locally. I have all my xterra trim protected with wolfgang trim sealant. And it lasts months!
I have not tried Mothers Back to Black Heavy Duty Trim but did see it at a local store and wondered about it since I read some good things about their tire cleaner - thanks for the tip -
You lost me on this--if you used Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant (WETS), that stuff is fantastic, I don't know how you got it all streaky like that, but in a million years I wouldn't thought to put 845 on top of it (845 does do great on trim, but I can't see how it would work on top of WETS).
I'd do an APC scrub with a soft (but not too soft) brush, thorough rinse, IPA wipe if you want, then try the WETS again.
APC at 4:1 scrub with a short nap microfiber towel, follow with a 25% IPA wipedown and rinse with high pressure hose. Allow to dry completely before application of SF
A week later, I would put a layer of WG Trim Sealant over it to extend the life of the SF
I really like CarPro DLUX, but I think this trim is too far gone for it to darken it enough
