Re: Test drive - NEW RUPES Mille and Rotary Buffer by Mike Phillips
Thanks Mike...
So....Rupes 21 better suited than a Rupes 15 MkII? I have the MkII with complete rupes pads and polishes. Plus the UHS as well.

"We did receive information a couple days ago from Rupes...
We are getting the new products in a number of shipments over the next month. Most of the new products should be fulfilled from the pre-orders by the end of March"

Sounds great! Let us know how you like them. I'm on the fence about the Mille myself.

Hello, I was thinking of getting a GG6, GG3, and GG2 conversion kit. Could the Mille be a replacement for the GG package I mentioned? I currently will be using on Volvo station wagon and RAV4 if that matters. Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark and welcome to AutogeekOnline!
The RUPES Mille could replace the Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital Polisher but at this time there's no way to put or safely put a smaller pad on the Mille.
Whichever large tool you go with I'd still recommend the Griot's 3" Mini Polisher. With the Griot's BOSS thin pads or the Lake Country ThinPro pads, on speed 6 it works great.
I used it just this week to de-swirl thin panels on a 1969 Roadrunner.

Thanks, Mike. I have not detailed since the mid to early 80's when I was in high school and detailed used cars for a Toyota dealership. $200 per car and I thought I was rich, LOL.
Just trying to do as much research as I can before I make a purchase and of course not spent a fortune.
I really enjoyed your write up,
"Here's what you need to get into machine polishing"
Decisions, decisions, decisions.
