The way I see this is if the battery lasts long enough to go through 1 or 2 pads, then it's great. You'll have a charger nearby already charging another battery and as you swap pads you swap batteries too. If the weight of the tool didn't get crazy heavy due to the battery, I think this is a winner and will set a new standard. Everyone hates cords.
The lithium ion battery that I use on my Ryobi power tools is significantly weaker towards the end compared to a fully charged battery. Just like the Flex battery, my Ryobi battery has a charge indicator.

This is my thinking with any battery operated tool as well. Not enough energy to supply full power at the lower end. Cordless polishers are in their infancy so will wait for now.

Ok. This is sexy.
Forget everyone making videos unboxing the new iPhone, we need more footage and info on these new tools!
I can imagine it would be a lot easier to bring these around and get right to the point showing customers a test spot, and switching out the batteries, also you don’t have to deal with the pain of walking a cord around the car... you could also set these in the Detailer helper belt and just walk around the car!

Re: NEX FLEX Cordless Polishers!
This appeals to me.
Whenever I see a scuff, or paint transfer on a car in a parking lot I give them my business card.
The owner always seems genuinely intrigued or interested in getting it repaired but life happens. People get busy and forget.
With one of these things in my truck when the customer asks when Can I get it done my answer will be NOW!

This is an extremely good point, Joe.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.
