Re: Hand applying Dodo Juice Orange Crush Soft Wax with PJ from Dodo Juice!
What is the benefit of using your fingers instead of an applicator?

Re: Hand applying Dodo Juice Orange Crush Soft Wax with PJ from Dodo Juice!
This is too cool. I just applied a coat of orange crush last weekend using the same hand method. Orange crush is a bit "gritty" which is best applied with your hands. It's a fantastic wax. It reminds me of Zymol carbon wax which also is best applied with hands. There's something about applying wax that way that makes the whole effort just thŕt more satisfying.
In my day we didn't have the Internet, iPods,iPads, or smart phones....but we had some really bad-azz cars.

Re: Hand applying Dodo Juice Orange Crush Soft Wax with PJ from Dodo Juice!
I applied orange crush with bare hands on my sky and while I loved the process I found that it actually went on too thick that way. NOW, obviously if PJ is doing it then it is in the technique and I must need some more practice. I switched to a foam applicator and was able to apply it much thinner. I applied vintage only by hand which is the only way to go with that one with no problem since then so maybe it's time I get my orange crush out again and give it another shot by hand.

I prefer to use the Supernatural Finger Mitts, but that's just me.

Re: Hand applying Dodo Juice Orange Crush Soft Wax with PJ from Dodo Juice!
Using bare-hands is but one of DoDo's recommended application methods for this particular wax.
From:
Dodo Juice Orange Crush Soft Wax, carnauba car wax, dodojuice waxes, wax for warm colors, wax for red cars, orange car wax
Application:
As with any car wax, we’ve found that the best results are obtained on a clean, smooth paint finish....Then apply a layer of Dodo Juice Orange Crush Soft Wax using a soft foam applicator or with your bare hands.
And...
Use a soft foam or microfiber applicator, or your
bare hands, to apply Dodo Juice Orange Crush Soft Wax.
I imagine this "by bare-hand" application method is the way PJ preferred while waxing this '57.
As Mr. Phillips explained earlier: "I had planned on machine applying the wax to the paint but PJ shared with everyone some tips and techniques for hand applying this pre-softened Carnauba Wax so we listened up and followed his instruction."
All I can say is, that when I have guests over at my place, I try to be polite, also.

I am fascinated with the hand application method, but at the same time I cannot bring myself to try it yet. I don't know, something about rubbing my hands all over my cars paint just seems wrong.

If rubbing them is wrong I don't want to be right.
