    Rusty,

Question was is it doable to hit a break even point of 800-1000 in sales weekly, hypothetically.

Would you quit your job to try it? If so, when, at what point?
    If not, why?

With my current job/schedule there won't be a black and white point of having enough business to quit and detail full time.

I was also wondering if my initial fixed and variable costs were out of line, either high or low.

I know you directed this at Rusty, but that is really going to be your own personal decision. Starting any business is a big risk and if you decide to do so you will eventually have to take that leap of faith of leaving your full time job.

I would also recommend to never 'try' starting a business. Either throw yourself into it completely, do everything you can to make it successful, or build it slowly while working another job.

Mark, any and all comments are welcome from anyone. I know a lot of this comes down to a personal choice but I'm still looking for input on the feasibility of making 1000/wk and why or why you wouldn't quit your job to do this full time.

I may make a 2nd thread along the lines of current business owners and hindsight...

    Re: Out of line?

If I detailed full time I could generate $1000 a week in the spring and fall. Last year things were slow in August, so maybe $1000 in the summer. In Dec, Jan and Feb no way.

Running a business is expensive if done right. Even a small side business. 1k a week is no where enough money to support the business plus you. I would just do it part time and see how it goes.
