Optimum Gloss Coat vs Opti-Seal 2.0

So I have been reading as much as I could find about the new Gloss-Coat. I haven't seen anything yet about longevity of the product. Has anybody tested it out for the last couple of years?

From what I can find, 2.0 was essentially a permanent coating whereas the Gloss-Coat is spec'd to be a 2 year coating. How do the two compare? I was looking forward to probably buying some 2.0, but not so sure about Gloss-Coat.

    I am talking about Opti-coat 2.0, not Opti-Seal

I don't think Gloss Coat has hit the 2 year mark.

Your title is a little confusing. You want a comparison between a coating and a sealant?

Can you even find 2.0 at a reasonable price?

Gloss-Coat is now a 3-year coating, but as Rsurfer noted, not even the original 2-year version has been out that long.

Gloss-Coat should be approx. the same longevity as other consumer coatings.

Re: Optimum Gloss Coat vs Opti-Seal 2.0

I know that 2.0 isn't available now, but there is plenty of evidence of what it has been able to withstand and how it has lasted. I was thinking that Gloss-Coat had been out for a couple of years now. I guess it has been just over a year.

I was reading the AGO store page on it and it says it is 2 years.
Surfaces that are coated with Optimum Gloss-Coat will be protected for up to two years.
So then Gloss-Coat is no longer a sealant, it is a coating? Bummer. I was looking forward to trying 2.0.

Ok, so wait up here. I used the wrong name. It is Opti-Coat 2.0 I was talking about

I think you're getting confused between Opti-Seal (sealant) vs. Gloss-Coat (coating). The current version of GC is a 3-year product, I guess they haven't updated the product page here.

Chris, being that I have a truck (Nissan Frontier CC) do you think that I would need the 20cc version instead of the 10cc?
