New Car Prep - Pinnacle Black Label Coating

Morning! I've read a few post on this but wanted to confirm.

I picked up my white S3 on Wednesday and requested no cleaning or touching prior to pickup - had a piece of wrap put on the roof to make it all black.

-Is the piece of wrap ok to be coated?

-After the wash, dry, iron-x, autoscrub - Pinnacle recommends I use their polish to remove any remaining pollutants on the paint. Do I go that route or grab my boss 21 and a finishing pad with some Menzerna 4000?

-The car doesn't have any major scratches or blims so I'd prefer not do the extra work with a machine polisher but I also don't want to lock in something for 2-3 years without it being done right. Would a hand application of the pinnacle polish suffice?

-Anything else to watch out for?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Do use their paint cleansing polish prior to coating the car. I've used both the cleansing polish and coating a number of times on PPF and never had a problem, but do test a small spot first to check compatibility. Also, get some 3M vinyl tape and tape the edge of the wrap while you are doing any machine polishing/cleansing.

SF4000 will leave behind some oils that are undesirable for coating application so you would want to use the surface cleansing polish after sf4000.

Any time I coat a car I do a polish on the car even if its new and untouched. There maybe a few blemishes on that paint. Always best to be on the safe side and give it a once over.

Do a test spot with some fine polish and go over them entire car. You want the paint to be in the best condition possible before applying the coating.

Once you have gone over the car you can hand apply the PBL Prep Polish to the entire car. This polish on ensures the surface is clean and free of any polishing oils, glazes, and or waxes.

Once you have done that you can remove the prep polish and move on to coating the car.

The PBL coating flashes rather quickly so break up the application into small sections no more that a 2'x2' area.
