Leftover Residue
Hello all,
I just bought a 2011 Acura black TSX (first to own a black car) in excellent condition. After i bought it, I went ahead took it in my local detailer and applied Gtechniq C1 Crystal Lacquer.
After two weeks it looks and feels very good so I decided to add Gtechniq c2v3 Liquid Crystal (5:1 dilution, recommended by my auto detailer) for a better protection and had some problems applying it.
First washed the car with Optimum No Rinse with the two bucket with grit guard method. The car was cooled down three hours before giving the wash and the car was in a shaded area. I washed each panel in sections and dried it clean. After drying, I went ahead and applied Gtechniq c2v3 with light pressure and it went on and off smooth. After a closer inspection, I seen tons of leftover residue. I'm thinking, maybe the dilution was strong so I hand buffed it out with slight pressure was it wont away in a few passes. I hand buffed it out with Mothers Showtime Quick Detailer and the leftover residue was gone.
My question is, why was there so much leftover residue and why is it so hard to buff out?
Here is some photos I took after applying the c2v3:

Bare in mind, my knowledge of auto detailing is from this awesome forum.
Thanks for all the help!

You may have put to much product on the appilcator, thus it will be hard to remove and leftover residue will be present.

..to AGO!
The "type" of residues you are experiencing are a sign of excessive product.
Often, if you lightly go back-over Gtechniq c2v3 with a slightly damp MicroFiber towel,
it will remove any streaking, 'high spots' and/or residues.

Thank you for the advice. Hopefully this work week will go by fast to tackle this task. Should I damp the MF towel with distilled water or more Gtechniq C2V3?

You may not want to introduce any extra C2V3:
(that was probably the problem to begin with).
Distilled water/MF-towel...if need be.
