Can't argue with those, throw in Collinite #845 too, then write down all the names and put them in a hat and draw....depending on the look your going for and color!

I'm shocked no one said Turtle Wax yet!
So here we go....It's Turtle Wax!!!

Armor all butter smooth wax with nufinish being a close second.
In all Seriousness I love dodo banana armour on my red car. I also love Megs m26 on black, it just looks dripping wet. Megs m16 is also a great wax, if you can find a tin pick it up.

Re: Best car wax or polish to date
Red, I've been hanging around here for almost 4 years and don't know the single best answer for that question yet, because there is no single best answer. Knowing what I know now, if I was just starting out, here's what I'd choose: For a daily driver, Collinite 845 liquid or 476 paste, 'cause they're about as bulletproof as any product can be, shy of one of the coating products. For brilliant gloss and reasonable durability, Blackfire Wet Diamond or maybe Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. For a garage queen or show car, I like the softer glow of a wax product, such as Pete's 53, any Dodo juice, Fuzion, even Meguiar's #26 or Gold Class. If ease and speed of application is important, Optimum Car Wax, Duragloss Aquawax or Optimum Opti-Seal. That's only scratching the surface. Beyond that all I can say is to make acquaintance with the search tab at the top of the page and have fun experimenting.

Well for the best.. like the BEST you can buy... Hands down Swissvax Crystal Rock. It is noticeably different then a lot of other waxes on the same panel. It is the most hydrophobic wax I have used, most durable by far, and it smells lovely!
Sure there are the Zymol out there, but I have used Vintage Glaze and its not quite the same as Crystal. Its more of a show wax than an all round wax. Plus some can be very difficult to secure!
Polish Angel make some amazing waxes but I have yet to try.
Definitive Wax also has a tendency to make some amazing stuff, yet again I have not tried it!
J97 is something I wouldn't bother with.
In all fairness you did ask for the best to date.
