If I understand OP’s question correctly, I thought he’s requesting a new forum topic for current and future coating threads, as much as summaries of past threads? I may have misunderstood. I do that sometimes.

I think what he means is for us to create a dedicated forum GROUP.
This thread is posted in the Hot topics & Frequently Asked Questions GROUP. Another example is there's a dedicated GROUP for wetsanding and even asking yours truly questions.

I haven't given the suggestion to create a new group much though as I've been a tick busy since then. There is an issue with forums growing called, Forum Group Creep, that is it's all to easy to add more and more GROUPS until the forum is simply to messy and complicated to navigate and I think this forum is already there.
A few years ago I combined a number of forum groups, (set-up before I came to Autogeek in 2009), to clean up the groups and make finding the right group or place to post a thread easier. There's still room for improvement.
I am going to take the list of articles I created in the first reply to this thread and create my own reference article because then I can share it here,
