Mequiar's Gold Class Premium Quick Deailer (weekly use question)?
Can GCPQD be diluted with distilled water?
Not looking to save money, just concerned it MAY cause "build up" streaking if used continuously every week prior to a car show at full strength?
Thank you !

I doubt the QD would build up, but also can’t see any reason why diluting it would cause issues.

I wouldn’t dilute it. Doing that will only render you with half of the intended lubricity, possibly leading to swirls.
It’s not going to build up and cause a negative effect. More than likely what actually happens is the product removes a percentage of the previous layer everytime you re apply it and whatever remains gets leveled out with the new layer. You’re not going to wind up with 17 layers of it...

Re: Mequiar's Gold Class Premium Quick Deailer (weekly use question)?
Would the same apply to GCQW spray in terms of weekly use with not getting an ugly build up?
My base is: Menzerna 4500 polish followed by Poor Boys Black Hole Glaze and topped with Mequiars Gold Class Caranuba Liqiud Wax ---- came out GREAT and now looking to maintain it on a weekly basis.
Seems there's a lot of folks think I would be better off using GCQW spray as opposed to GCQD spray?
Thank you !

The GC Quick Wax is better to maintain as it provides additional protection in synergy with your base GC Liquid. The GC Liquid isn’t very durable so the extra quick wax should help extend.
I may avoid diluting GCQW. I tried it as a drying aid 3-4 months ago and it performed poorly, streaky and cloudy. I can’t say for sure that adding water would do the same, but I would recommend just using it straight every wash, I doubt it will build up unless you are washing 2-3x per week for months straight. I was trying to rid my bottle by using it up and applied probably 8 times in the span of 4-5 weeks and had no ill effects )other than the drying aid instance).

The product is surely already diluted, so I wouldn't think of doing that. FWIW, once that bottle is emptied out, try CarPro Ech2o diluted at 7:1. Not only will your paint thank you, so will your wallet Also, there's that Beadmaker stuff too, LOL!!

•With a boiling point of 212°F
(same as water’s)
•being completely soluble in water
•blessed with a very low level of VOCs
(1% by weight);
•and a Specific Gravity of 1
{standard: water = 1}...
IMO:
It’s already about as “watery” as it can get!

What if you were using this in the higher elevations of the Himalaya's, Bob?
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

EcH2O at 1:7 sounds like a streaker on black paint... maybe start off more conservatively at 1:20 or 1:15 and work your way stronger.
