Flat pads have 100% of the pad face working at all times. (Providing the pad is kept flat against the surface, of course). Also, there are no recessed areas for product to build up. They are easier to "clean on the fly", and also easier to clean after the job is done.

N noorth SELF BANNED Jun 7, 2019 1,076 0 Jul 26, 2021 #23 You guys have me thinking lol i'm pretty sure my first generation griots G15 came with a 5 inch backing plate stock...6 inch backing plates are kinda obsolete for DA polishers. Maybe a 21mm.
