GG6 backing plate
Hello,
I am thinking if I can transform my GG6'' to 3'' by buying an 3 inch backing plate? Also maybe someone can help me figuring out what kind of backing plate it has.
Thanks in advance.

Griot's makes this 3" backing plate for the GG6 with the correct weight and balance for the machine. Here is the link Griots Garage 3 inch HD Backing Plate

Re: GG6 backing plate
When I used mine as a 3" machine, I purchased the following:
D.A Adapter 5/8" X 11
Buff and Shine Rotary Backing Plate Extension
And a 3" backing plate. The adapter and extension gave me ample clearance from the machine and allowed me to work in tighter spaces and be able to see better what was going on. But honestly, once I purchased my Rupes Mini; I never looked back.

I would also get Rupes Mini but decided to give it some time.

Re: GG6 backing plate
if you use a DA adapter on the DA, use with extreme caution. IME, they can come loose and you can only imagine what can happen if it goes flying off and hit something...
