hmmm.. another option for the GG3?
Put the GG 3" on any type of tilt and the pad will stop, I don't care what type of foam pad you're using. The Rupes Mini has this problem, too. MF pads work much better on these machine, as they will contour a lot better.

the new lake country microfiber pads also come in the 2.25" size too (AG doesn't stock them right now) and with the new 2" DA backing plate it's another option as well...

Re: hmmm.. another option for the GG3?
I have never had any issues with the GG3 equipped with 3" pads. It has always provided enough power for the task at hand. I too have removed 3K grit sanding marks without issue.
One thing to note is always keep in mind the size of the machine and thus its limitations. You just have to take your time with it and cannot expect to power through the task at hand.

good points mike ^ i think some expect too much out of it. maybe the next version will have as much torque/power to where it won't bog down at all, j/k...

Good! More options! Thanks for letting me know.

In that particular section, yes, the orange peel did survive some. In another section, I went through the clear (practice panel that has seen more than it's fair share of damp sanding, compounding, and polishing).
I didn't use the foam interface (Keep forgetting I have the Megs version), but the Abralon discs *do* have some foam on them, albeit it's quite thin and soft.

What pads did you find to be your favorite on the GG3?
