Stepping up.
I got a PC 7424xp about a year and a half ago to maintain my own vehicles. Family and friends have taken notice to the shine and clarity of my two vehicles and i have been employed to correct some of their vehicles. Problem i am facing is my DA doesn't seem to be agressive enough for these neglected vehicles. it seems that i have to spend excessive time on these cars and trucks and that makes the process much less lucrative.
I am looking into stepping up to a Flex. i am having trouble deciding between the pe14-2 or getting their orbital. i am confident that i can become proficient with a rotary, just looking for the most machine for my limited funds. any help is appreciated.

Re: Stepping up.
I would step up to the rotary since you already have a 7424XP. The Flex PE14 is a great machine for sure, but I would also look at the DeWalt DWP849X and the Flex L3403 Light Weight Rotary. Both are less money than the PE14 and the DeWalt is just a bit heavier.

Re: Stepping up.
Even if you step up I would suggest that you only practice with that rotary before you attack a customer vehicle. If you think dye is a B****, wait til you see what a rotary will do!

Re: Stepping up.
Read all the treads that you can about rotaries. Mikes book will help too. There are mistakes to be made And I've had my share. When you buy a product, you need to test that product before you put it on a customer vehicle.
Also one of the biggest mistake for a newb is trying to correct the the incorrectable.

Go to the junkyard and get a hood to practice on.
That said I feel you could fix your problem with a different pad/product combo.
