Re: First time with Flex 3401

    ^Thanks a lot!

I agree that cyclo ,might be a nice machine, but I have to tackle big flat panels and cyclo might not be ideal for that!

I need to be able to polish with the edge of the pad on tiny curved areas like the A-pillar, etc. and at most of these places, the traditional DA stops spinning as the panel itself isnt flat!

I would still go for the Flex XC 3401 VRG DA Polisher IMHO

    Great machine !

The Flex 3401 doesn't spin as fast as a traditional DA, it's the forced rotation that gives the 3401 its power! With the Meg's MF system and the GG6, I can get better cut than with anything I've ever tried with the 3401, but it's still a great polisher. I prefer using the 3401 to apply LSP's because the pad never stops rotating, so you can go over the car faster.

I never had a problem with a non-forced DA applying waxes very fast. You do not need much downward pressure so pad stoppage should not be an issue.

I think the 3401 will work against you at those speeds after using it once in a similar approach.

Wow, I'm shocked any machine would bog down when applying an lsp. I haven't used them all but I can't imagine this. I use barely any pressure when applying lsp. You must use more than I do.

I don't use pressure either, I just like that the pad *never* stops rotating which equals very uniform coverage. Traditional DA's tend jiggle(not rotate) if too much pressure is applied, or not enough, I can throw all that other stuff out the window. It's peace of mind with the 3401. I'm not trying to over complicate things...lol
