Flex 3401 OPM on each setting?
Does anyone know the speed of the flex on each of its settings of the OPM..I have looked every where and I cant seem to find it. I was going to add some 6" MF pads for my flex and since it says use 3800 for finishing and 4800 for cutting..i wasnt exactly sure what speed settings that is on the flex.
Thanks

Speed 6 = 4800 OPM, not sure what the rest are. By the way, the 3401 sucks with the MF system.

The pads were vey grabby and all over the place. With a decent amount of pressure, I created holograms. Wipeoff of the compound as much harder than when using my GG DA.The system was designed for a traditional DA, and I now understand why.

what speed 6 would be 9600 OPM..how would speed 6 be 4800OPM
maybe it sucked cause you are using it at speed 6 and thats double the OPM they say you should use it for in turn what could have caused all the problems with it.

There was a write-up by Kevin Brown on another forum. There was thorough testing done, and Flex measures their OPM's a little differently than the industry standard. Speed 6 spins at 4800 OPM's, trust me, it's not 9600. I was not using it at 9600 OPM's. Try it for yourself and see.

Re: Flex 3401 OPM on each setting?
all I know is that my PC on speed 4 that is roughly 4800 OPM and compared to speed 6 on the flex..There is a HUGE night and day difference in the speed of it..I was thinking more on the lines of speed 3 would be probably close to what speed 4-5 would be using the PC

I think 9600 OPM is correct.

Re: Flex 3401 OPM on each setting?
I dont care about a link..I know when I have my flex on 6 and PC on 4 there is a HUGE amount of difference between the speeds they are running at. So if the MF pads are designed to run at the 4800 OPM of the PC speeds..I would match the flex at the same rate of speed. and my guess would be around speed 2-3..Id still like to know each speed on each setting
