Backing plate for 5 1/2" Pads

The Flex 3401 is an outstanding machine, clearly the finest most well built polisher I've ever owned. The Flex 3401 comes with a 5 1/2" backing plate for use with 6" minimum diameter foam pads.

Personally, I like the smaller size pads. The 5 1/2" flat pad are smaller and much thinner than the 6 1/2" CCS pad making the machine more efficient and easier to maneuver.

The question I have is; Does Flex make a 5" diameter backing plate for the 3401 machine as an option for use with 5 1/2" diameter pads?

This means "LOTS" of feedback please!

Sorry Bobby there is no other backing plate you can use on the flex but what you can do is either buy another BP and cut off the edge of it and use that one for smaller pads and use the one it came with for the larger pad. It very easy to cut off the edge just need to remove it from the machine and use a good sharp blade .

We have discussed this with Flex and they are aware of the desire for a smaller backing plate.
