Well i finally picked one up tonight from a local store int he mall that carries all kinda high end detail goodies...This thing just feels sooo nice and smooth. I have had my PC for 2years now and I have wanted this thing for a long time. the weather has turned to crap around here. BUT next week looks like a indian summer supposed to be 60 and sunny all week. So my order of new stuff from Autogeek will be here on monday so i will get to try out this new beast and the new stuff I got from Autogeek.
You should have gotten the same results with the pc.

not as fast as I do with this thing. I started to not like using that PC because it would always make my hand go numb after long use from the vibrations.
Removing the backing plate will reveal a felt ring that keeps the rotating plate from coming in contact with the units housing. Early on owners had a problem where the plate came in contact with the housing and generated enough friction and heat to soften or melt the plastics used.
The folks at Flex addressed this and from what I've read it's no longer an issue. The felt ring is still there and even though it's rumored that applying lubricant to it is no longer needed I still do.
Thanxs BobbyG,
I've used my new Flex on four vehicles without any issues. When I read the oiling of the felt ring I thought "Oh Ooh", did I do something wrong?? So do you think I'll be OK, to leave it or should I lubricate it? Thanx again JimmyJam!
FWIW, I lightly oiled my felt ring with 3-in-1. My buddy did not add any lube to his. My 3401 shows a little wear and tear on the backing plate where the felt touches, his does not.
Although... My 3401 probably has a least 2x-3x the hours on it. Not really a valid comparison I guess...
