can't get imperfections out
Worked on a 99 explorer last week and everything shined up nice, except the hood. The hood was riddled w/ imperfections that I could not feel, but you could see. Tried flex w orange pad and menzerna intensve polish, also tried using some hi-temp 357 magnum. Did not touch the imperfections. Cleared up the haze in the clear coat and made it shine, but imperfections seemed to be underneath and I could not touch them. While the customer was very satisfied, I on the other hand, was not. Have used porter cable 7424 for over a year now, bought a flex thinking it would get just about everything out, but not this time. Any suggestions?? Thx in advance...

maybe some pics are needed .. if it was a repaint maybe these imperfections were indeed "in" the paint. Remember no buffer will removes pits and scratches felt with nail either.

If IP with an orange pad did not work, maybe it's a re-paint and is under the clear. Did you check under the hood for over-spray? You could try Meg's 105, if that doesn't work, it's for sure under the clear.
