I have. The cord doesn't stick out. You don't need to tie it hard just a small loop so the cord stays secure

Hi Sorry for the delayed response. I used Neutrik Powercon Truecon connectors. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY, if you are still under warranty.
The connectors are relatively easy to install if you're handy. You do need a relatively tiny torx screwdriver to tighten the connections to the conductors. In short, you buy an extension cord of whatever length you prefer, in the thickest gauge required to run your most powerful tool; I recommend 12 gauge. You cut the female end of the extension cord off. You cut the male ends of the tools off. You install male connectors on the tools and a female connector on the extension cord. You can buy these on am a zon. THey're water tight and are rated for loaded disconnect; in other words, you can disconnect them while the tools are running if you need to, for whatever reason.
Edit: Yes, they absolutely hold up. These types of things are frequently used by touring musicians and are built to withstand the abuse of many connects/disconnects and the beating they take from being constantly used for gigs.
Edit 2: I'm a hobbyist detailer, just do stuff for myself or teach friends and family the ropes. Just detailed one of my Porsches for an autism awareness charity car show. Nothing to do with this thread, but since I'm here:

Oops
Oops; weird. Pic never showed up, but it does on my phone app.
2014, picked it up with 5k miles in September of last year, currently already have 12k miles on it, tracked it, taken it to rallies (doing Corsa America next year), drive it hard, daily driver, all year round (sleet and snow) and its been to Florida and back, with my wife in the passenger seat and my 80lb pit in the back. This pic was just taken on Saturday, the paint has taken a beating but I'm happy with the results. The frequency with which I need to detail would would take me forever if I had to deal with the hassle of a million tangled cords each time. Next detailing project will be my GT4 in a few weeks.

Re: Twist plug cord for Polishers.
Those are bad ass! No more plugs coming undone or tying an overhand where cords join to keep them together. You can buy a cord with your choice of male or female end on it up to 100' length. 1 long cord to a locking plug on the working end & water resistant. Sounds perfect!
