Remember if you ever go to a Wal-Mart or store with that in the car to cover the "Flex Power Tools" sticker.
Thanks Joe! $170
Good tip.

Good stuff!
With a case like this you will never worry about your polishers being banged up during transport.

Re: Secured in a mobile vault. FLEX polisher collection
If you were to do it again would you buy a slightly larger case so that you could route your cables into a groove next to the machine, or do you find it perfect as is. I love the idea, just curious about a possible adaptation in the event that I do this myself (which I probably will).
Thanks

Hi J,
I am most likely to pick up another case in the future as I add more FLEX machines to my arsenal. I would purchase the same case as I have now. Not only because I would have matching boxes but because this is the perfect size for 3 machines. I understand you wanting to stick the cords in a separate slot to keep them from moving around however with the way I have my case set up the cords have NO chance of moving around inside the box. I pulled out the egg crate foam that comes in the lid and used the thicker foam I removed from the bottom where the machines reside. With the thicker foam on top the foam actually presses against the backing plates when the lid is closed eliminating any chance of the cords moving around.
If you decide to pick up a larger box, keep in mind the added weight just by having a bigger box. The 1560 is 20lbs already. Adding my machines added 15-20 pounds. I haven't weighed the total yet but wouldn't be surprised if its at 40lbs. If you go with the 1610 figure on another 2.5lbs just for added interior volume. Plus now you have a bigger box to carry/maneuver.
I will weigh mine and get back to the thread when I do.
Specs: 1560
INTERIOR (L X W X D)
19.92" x 14.98" x 9.00" (50.6 x 38 x 22.9 cm)
EXTERIOR (L X W X D)
22.07" x 17.92" x 10.42" (56.1 x 45.5 x 26.5 cm)
WEIGHT WITH FOAM: 20.00 lbs (9.1 kg)
Specs: 1610
INTERIOR (L X W X D)
21.78" x 16.69" x 10.62" (55.3 x 42.4 x 27 cm)
EXTERIOR (L X W X D)
24.83" x 19.69" x 11.88" (63.1 x 50 x 30.2 cm)
WEIGHT WITH FOAM: 22.30 lbs (10.1 kg)
Specs: 1650
INTERIOR (L X W X D)

Appreciate the feedback. I saw on the Pelican site that they're releasing an "Air" version, which has a larger model with a lighter weight. I may pick that up. I'm a hobbyist, and only detail my own cars, so this doesn't need to move very far. It's more about having the convenience to set it somewhere near where I'm working to get at my selection of polishers. Currently I've got a 3401, PE-14, Rupes mini and LHR815, a Griot's 3rd Gen 6" that I don't use except ,for carpet scrubbing, a nano with its own case which I wouldn't change how I store it, a Makita rotary (rarely used), and my trusty 14 year old PC (haven't. touched it in five years but can't get myself to chuck it.) I'd likely keep the Flex, mini, and PE-14 together in the case, and maybe (just maybe) the LHR15. Let me know how working with the two cases together works out for you. That may be the better way to go for keeping the most common three together, and the "second string" together.

No problem. I did see the air versions but they are a bit spendy.
I usually don't have to go far with mine either. The biggest thing is of course protecting them as well as always having them together to pick out what is needed. Now I can just bring the case and know that I always have them with me at all times rather than think about which ones to bring along.
Nice selection of machines you have there. I have the FLEX's as well as a Dewalt 849x, G110v2, GG3, and 3M 15mm pneumatic 3" polisher.
Will do. I think the second box would be great for the other string of polishers.

Well this loaded case comes in at 35.4lbs. 15.4lbs over the weight of the case with just foam inside.
