    Wholesale Accounts?

Many online detailing merchants are now offering "whole accounts" in one form or another. Examples:

1). Join a club for a fee and get discount prices (like Costco). 2). Consistently spend a certain amount of money over a certain period of time and get discount prices.

Is Autogeek planning on doing something like this?

They do have these accounts, but to my understanding there is a fee (just like Costco - i think it rings to the 4 digit sound). I believe the accounts are aimed to resellers more than detailers, but you should call and see if it is worth it.

Subbed, as an interesting question for sure.

Heck, I'd like to see what we see on pretty much any enthusiast forum you'll go to, and that is the "group buy". I've seen speakers, TV's, Subwoofers, heck even $10, $15, $20,000 projectors and most anything in between on electronics forums. Then go to car forums and you'll find performance parts of all kinds, exhausts, even body kits on various forums with "group buys". Seems like something could happen, yet I understand that'd take a hit on the bottom line.

Personally, I've done it with products (before detailing) on stuff I could get great deals on, and even on case deals after detailing. It's a pay it forward thing when it helps all sides. I've had vendors that required minimum levels to stay at wholesale pricing. Not that I've needed that many receivers, or sets of speakers (for instance) but sometimes it just works. (And no, that doesn't break 'net selling rules' as long as you don't go selling on the 'net'.)

Are you referring to something like Autoality's Detailer's Club or something else? As far as I know, AG's wholesale business is not like this, but rather for retailers so their tax is deferred. You would need a sales tax license in addition to your tax ID. However, I could be wrong. They have a wholesales account contact on their website - it may be best to get in touch with them to find out what the requirements are.

I'm looking forward to hearing more. I'm always up for saving as much money as possible!

    Re: Wholesale Accounts?

I get a wholesale discount on another detailing site. If i spend more than $1,000 a year in products, i get discounts such as a dry waffle weave towel that sells for $17.99, my price is $11.00. The more you spend the more of a discount you get, and no fee.

Also, you can sell the product yourself if you are business.

i'd be interested in what AG has to offer as far as wholesales.

    Re: Wholesale Accounts?

I've "seen a lot of bashing" take place on some detailing forum sites...
whenever there are accounts available...be it wholesale or not!

I'd almost bet that it wouldn't happen on the AGO forum, though.

I believe PMBG is a wholesaler for certain products such as Lake Country as well as house brand and they may also sell in bulk to smaller guys.

I would like to see what percentage of regular buyers spend $1000 plus per year. Something tells me its fairly high.

Heck, something like a frequent flyer/buyer club/discount would work. And NO DOUBT would be a successful program. I'd bet money a program like that would bring in even more buyers willing to spend a minimum level to qualify for the discounts.
