Now that the show has aired we'd like to say thank you to the detailers that behind the scenes spent all night buffing out the Cutlass 442.

    1. Paul Sparks aka 2old2change
    2. Walter Havens aka whavens - Also alumni of our 3-day detailing boot camp class
    3. Ron Atchison

You guys did a great job of bringing the paint back to life.

Projects like these are also the kind of bragging rights that most people never have the opportunity to be a part of.

Now if you have some pictures from this project post them.

No. What network shows it ?
I probably don't get it anyway. If it is Speed my cable company dropped it.

Yeah he sure made it seem like he did all the work.

I see they replaced the female co host from season 1. Overall a decent episode. I did catch the new Autogeek and Autopia commercials.

    Just to chime in....

First - I know Bruno really well and he's a consummate professional. He's also NOT the director or the producer of the show. Being a professional he's responsible for following the protocols and directions he's given by the director and producer.

Second - TV shows like this, (and I mean "Car Guy" TV shows), are time-compressed. A 30 minute TV show is 20 minutes of actual show. A one hour TV show is 40 minutes of actual show.

This show was not about buffing out the paint on this car it was about restoring this car and getting it back on the road in a short amount of time. That is the primary focus of this TV show. Buffing out the paint was just one aspect of many.

We all know how important it is to properly and correctly restore antique original paint like this old car had to avoid having to repaint the car and to also preserve the original paint. So due credit where credit is due to the guys that did the work. I watched the show and the paint came out awesome!

That said, there was never any promise or agreement made to Paul, Walter and Ron that they would be on the actual show or that they would receive credit in any manner for doing the buffing work on the show.

What I was told was they could use the work they did on this car for the show for bragging rights and that would mean sharing their involvement with their friends, family and others via their own social networks.

Bruno is a great guy and I count him as a very good friend. He's part of a TV show that provides entertainment, nothing more, nothing less.

There's a saying I coined in the forum world it goes like this,

"Time to push away from the keyboard"

It's advice I take myself and recommend to others anytime they have any doubts about what they're about to post to a forum or say on Facebook or via a phone call. That is maybe take a walk and get some fresh air first and then ask themselves if what they have to say is really the right thing to do.
