How To Use A Rotary Buffer Class at 2013 Mobil Tech Expo




For anyone attending, this year I'm going to do a live demonstration inside the banquet room for my class on how to use the rotary buffer.

There will be a power point presentation going through the steps and after each step I'm demonstrate the technique to one of my black demonstration panels.

While a power point presentation is great for sharing "ideas" and "pictures", what means even more is seeing how it's done first hand.

So if you're attending this years Mobil Tech Expo and you're new to using the rotary buffer be sure to attend this class.







Machine Wetsanding
To demonstrate technique I'll sand down my demo panel right before the class so if you also want to see how to machine wetsand be at this class a littler early.




This is what the Sawgrass Banquet room looks like and keep in mind the hood will be laying horizontal on a panel stand. I might see about having a couple of guys hold it vertical so everyone can see but I'll have to wait and see if there are any volunteers for this.

The majority of all classes are held on Thursday, January 17th. The organizer of Mobile Tech Expo call this "Education Day".

How to properly use the Rotary Buffer - 12:45pm to 1:30pm Sawgrass Room
The rotary buffer is without a doubt, the most powerful tool there is for machine polishing cars, trucks, boats and Motorhomes. It’s the tool of choice for removing sanding marks after wetsanding an entire car or an isolated repair. The rotary buffer is also to blame for the majority of all the holograms you see all too often in a car freshly detailed by Dealerships, Body Shops and “yes” even supposedly Professional Detailers. You will learn tips and techniques gained over a lifetime from using the rotary buffer including compounding with wool pads, polishing with foam pads and jewelling paint for a hologram-free finish.


The class is only 45 minutes long so we're going to move at a pretty fast clip. I'll actually be covering pretty much the steps we used for the recent wetsanding, cutting and buffing project in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Just an idea Mike but have a video camera on a tripod hooked to your projector and the audence can view your work on the screen real time. It's pretty easy to switch back and forth to the PowerPoint then panel demo.
