As a pilot in college it amazed me how good they were in the early to mid 80's. They've come a long way in 30 years.
I agree. Back in the 60's, you'd almost do as well as the weather man to just look out the back door.
But forecasting will never be perfect ... the laws of thermodynamics alway win out.

As advanced as it has become, you are completely right.
Still, I'd love to have as much leeway in my job. Lol
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.
