Your forum account is approved
For anyone that joined our forum over the last few days and has been patiently waiting for their account to be approved, I just went through all pending accounts and approved "real people".
Spammers? You'll simply have to find another forum to spam...

Just to add....
I've been working on forums since 2002, not as long as some but probably longer than most.
I have NEVER in my life seen so many spammers trying to join our forum.
And for the life of me... I've never understood "why" they would want to join and post spam... no one in their right mind would actually purchase or interact with anting a spammer posts.

I agree with you Mike, I don't understand it either. Sadly many folks do fall for it, you don't have to worry about getting mugged anymore, you have to worry about your identity.

Some might be related to online advertisers' staff trying to gain access to some content here that they can't otherwise get. These people are working on behalf of AGO in this case. Internet marketing is very sophisticated these days. Ever notice how you might search for light bulbs and then suddenly your "web experience" is "enhanced" with relevant pop ups for light bulbs shortly thereafter?
There is something called "Run of network" (search it in Wikipedia). I have spent time in these forums posting questions or comments and then almost like magic I get pop up ads for McKee's, Wolfgang or AGO which happen to be brands I read and comment about. It is not a coincidence. These AGO ads are part of a campaign which coordinates with your browser vendor (Chrome, Firefox, IE/Edge, Safari, Opera, etc.).
I know a guy who works in this field. They are continuously tweaking their algorithms and sometimes they join forums to better understand peoples' behaviors. The better your relevance the better your results and your business improves.
