Re: Autogeek Hurricane Update - Closed Friday - Saturday - Sunday - Monday - possibly Tuesday
I hope everyone is listening to their county managers and get out or find a sturdy shelter to wait out this monster hurricane .
The whole country is praying for all Floridians a Cat4 w/150mph winds is only 6mph. from being a Cat5 .
STAY SAFE ALL !

I'm sure that copter can be a life saver. Hope they don't need it for that purpose.

The key is they will have for when they do need it, which is after the storm passes.
It's safer in a reinforced building like AG's HQ than at a hanger. I could post tons of pictures from past hurricanes where aircraft were destroyed or damaged from hangers collapsing.
All the tankers from MacDill flew out over my house today, and those hangers a pretty solid.
Rule 1 is move it out of harms way.
Rule 2, if you can't put it in the most reinforced building.
Example A, Hurricane Andrew Homestead AFB 1992
Homestead AFB was never the same after Andrew, it was basically abandoned and later turned into an AF Reserve Base.
I'm pretty sure I heard some F-16's flying north over my house today too.

Wife is a first responder. Can't tell you how thrilled I am to see AG helping out with that helicopter. You guys are awesome!!
I suspect she'll be asked to go to Florida next week assuming the Oregon issues are tamped down.

Whatever your plans are, may the powers that be watch over all of our AG family down there.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.
