Re: Blast from the past - TR3 Resin Glaze
I remember TR3 and I still see it around every now and then. Don't have a picture but does anyone remember Vista. I used it back in the 60's and 70's. Sure kept my rides looking good.

Back in 1963 and 1964 I worked for a Pontiac dealer and all cars got waxed with Dupont # 7 New car Wax . It was a hard paste wax that was made to compete with Simonize Vista.

This TR3 and Liquid Glass were also ones that I was trying out when first starting

If I am correct, Vista was the first "cleaner/wax" to hit the shelves. I wanna say around 1960.

Bill - I believe you are correct. Did you ever use it? Sure keep the tar residue behind the tires disappear.

Vista was not the first paste cleaner wax . Johnsons J-Wax was , followed by Vista and then Dupont New Car Wax.However Vista was the most popular. All 3 came out in the late 50s.

I will stand corrected. I'm old and guess my memory isn't what it used to be. You and I must possibly be the same age to be remembering these vintage waxes.

Did a quick Google search and see the Vista was first introduced in '57.
As to using it...really want to give a smart a** answer (I'm 74, whada you think?), but yes. Prior to an AOI it was Simonize Kleener and then Simonize paste. A real workout for sure. For those in the know, there was Meguiar's Car Polish, which was what is now M-7 (I think).
