Guess that LSP & Win Giveaway!
Have you ever seen a gorgeous looking car and wondered what type of wax or sealant was on it? Was it a fine carnauba wax that can only be found at select retailers, or was it a $4 wax that you can buy at your local auto parts store? Did the owner detail it him/herself or did a professional make it look that good? What is on that car?!
Max, the car guy that he is, recently added a new vehicle to his collection. It's a "Volcano Red Metallic" Audi TT Roadster. If you're a car guy, a new car (especially a sports car) is a big deal. A car to most people is an appliance, but if you're an avid automotive enthusiast such as Max, a new car is exciting.
I like detailing cars, especially if I'm in the air conditioned Show Car Garage with every polisher at my disposal and only one thing on the television - SPEED TV. I jumped on the opportunity to clean up and apply an LSP to Max's new Volcano Red Metallic, 2-seat, turbocharged, direct injected roadster. I thought it would be fun to incorporate a giveaway and do more than just a Show N' Shine.
This contest will have five winners total. The first two people who guess the LSP used on the Audi will win a 16oz bottle of Griot's Garage Long-Lasting Tire Dressing along with the LSP that was applied to the Audi. The other three people who guess the LSP will be picked at random, and they will win the LSP that was applied to the Audi.
Here is what makes it fun! In one, maybe two, or even three of the pictures, you will be able to see a reflection of the LSP that was used. It's like Where's Waldo - except you have the chance to win free stuff!
(LSP = Last Step Product (ie: wax or sealant))
I applied the mystery LSP using a Porter Cable 7424xp along with a 5.5" x 7/8" Lake Country Hydro-Tech Crimson Finishing Pad. This is my go-to pad for applying any LSP because the design of the foam allows the majority of the product to stay on the face of the pad, meaning less product is wasted.
The Audi TT is a little car, think of it as a turbocharged go-cart. It's not like polishing a Suburban where you have acres of sheet metal. This is where the Griot's Garage 3" Polisher comes in handy. Not only does this mini DA utilize a 3" pad for all the tight spots, but the machine itself is small, light weight, and incredibly easy to hold.
Shortly after applying the LSP to the Audi, I dressed the tires using Griot's Garage Long-Lasting Tire Dressing. What I learned about this product is that a little bit goes a long way. I applied two thin, even coats using a Cobra Tire Dressing Applicator. The first coat made the tires look brand new, and the second coat added a nice low gloss. Long-Lasting Tire Dressing dries to the touch too.

After
All finished! Keep your eyes peeled for the mystery LSP.
Again, this contest will have five winners total. The LSP that was used can be seen in at least one of the reflection shots. I will give you guys one clue about the mystery LSP...
IT MAKES THE CAR SHINY!
This contest will run until Friday, July 8th.
