Re: Got Duragloss?
The rainy season is coming up. We'll get 50% of our annual rainfall in the next 3 months so I think it will be a good test for these products.
Richard recommends 501, 601, 105, so I think I'll do that to the wife's Subaru Legacy.
For my GTI I'm dying to give PB Black Hole a try and cover it with 111. I'm a little worried about 111 removing the BH. Has anyone tried covering a glaze with 111?

You'll be OK with the 111. Compare a panel with 501 instead of BH and see how it looks. 501 is an awesome, awesome product and looks amazing under either 111 or 105.

Re: Got Duragloss?
Nice! 111 is a pure sealant. It shouldn't remove anything. 105 has some cleaning properties, but 111 has none.

From the box...
"This non-abrasive formula removes fine scratches, tree sap, bugs and tar ..."
I keep hearing this is a pure sealant, so why would they put that on the box? Makes me think the glaze would not be safe.

Re: Got Duragloss?
I'm glad your stuff made it. I cannot answer your question about the glaze because I have only used glaze on 1 panel to test it out. As for the product combo there are 2 ways to do this:
1) Apply 601 to the entire car and allow to haze. Do not remove but proceed to apply 501 over the 601 and allow to haze and then remove. Wait 2 hours and apply 601 over the entire car again and allow to haze. Do not remove but proceed to apply 105 or 111 over the 601 and allow to haze and then remove. Optional - Wait 2 hours and do a final wipe with Aqua Wax. The next day your paint will be very slick
2) Richy's way (verified and approved by Duragloss) Mix 601 and 501 at a 1:4 ratio or 601 and 105/111 at a 1:4 ratio. (1 part 601 : 4 parts 501 or 105 or 111) At this point you will be doing 2 steps instead of 4 with the same results but faster. Apply 601/501 combo to entire car then remove. Then apply 601/105 or 601/111 combo to entire car then remove. If you want to go to the extreme, apply Collinite 845 after the 601/105 or 601/111 combo.
I personally wait 2 hours between the steps. Baking the vehicle in the sun if possible will accelerate the process. I polished a Subaru Outback LL Bean Edition back in October and did the 601/501 combo followed by 601/105 combo followed by Collinite 845. I recently spoke to the owner and he said the paint is just as slick and was not affected by road salt or car washes. He also said it beads like a well endowed chick at Mardi Gras! His neighbor watched him wash the car and now wants me to work on his 4Runner .
