Everybody has their favorite mementos of loved ones passed. Growing up as the son of a mechanic who taught me all about using tools and auto repair, mine is my late father's 50's era Snap-On center drawer section, stacked between my 80's top and bottom cabinet. Still getting regular use in my home garage, I devote some time on Father's day to freshen the thing up a bit:


A 3 inch pad on my polisher with some DG501:


Hardware polished and reinstalled.
I can't and won't undo almost 60 years of patina, but at least it's clean:

Crazy thing is I've done this before several times lol. Sometimes I'll use Klasse AIO.

Here's my entry: It's an old pedal car that my cousin bought for my niece. Except it's been sitting in his garage collecting dust for a few years so I figured I could bring some life back to it.







The 1st thing I did was give it a thorough waterless wash with Megs D114.



Next up was restoring some shine to all the chrome bits on this pedal car, starting with the bumper, which was in pretty bad shape.



A little bit of fine steel wool...



Making progress... I'll fix that light in a bit.



I keep on working to restore all the chrome...



Here's a few before & after shots of the chrome bits.

Next came machine polishing the paint with a 3" pad.



Found out it was single stage paint..



So I switched to Meguiars #7



I think the final results turned out great!





I detailed every last bit of this pedal car.. Even the leather seat was cleaned & conditioned.

The long throw of the Rupes 21 is supposed to be great for large panels right? I think I have the perfect application for it. Probably one of the largest garage/barn queens around. Don't get me wrong, the Mini is an amazing tool, but I think it might be in a little over its head on this one. There is also a BIG green tractor that could use a good polishing. I don't think I'm going to dress the tires though. lol
