water spot trouble - 2014 boat

We've kept our boat in storage this Summer and we brought it back this weekend, unfortunately I'm unable to remove my water spots with the products pictured.

The good thing about leaving the boat in storage at the lake (two states away) is that I don't have to trailer it back and forth each time we go. The bad thing is that I cannot detail it and stay up on the maintenance of the gel coat as I'd like.

I would very much appreciate some help in choosing the right products for me to get my boat looking like it did just a few months ago.

I am using a DA (PC7424XP) and some Lake Country 3.5 inch pads, orange.

Hopefully my images can help illustrate what I'm up against.

Something like Carpro Spotless would be the ticket to rid this.

Never tried it, but maybe Kaboom, or a diluted solution of Kaboom might work?

Try ZEP Shower, Tub and tile cleaner from home Depot and get some bigger pads.

Are the Kaboom and ZEP products gel coat safe? Do they need to be applied with caution. Since these are made for something other than automotive/marine use, I would assume there is no caution or directions for application. Do you simply wipe on, wipe off - do you put the product on a pad and use with a DA - do you put it on and wait for it to haze?

Just curious how to use/apply the tub and tile cleaners from those that have used these.

I just spray the ZEP on and brush it with a SOFT deck brush. I had bad tannin stains and the zep took them off with ease. Rinse well and reapply a coat of Marine 31 carnauba.

The vinegar is working nicely - any suggestions on how to apply this? I'm spraying about a 3' x 3' area and letting is stand for a bout 2 to 3 minutes then using a microfiber to wipe dry. I'm not diluting, I'm using 100% white vinegar.

If there are better applications or techniques using the vinegar, I would appreciate those.

The vinegar solution worked wonders!! I worked on the boat all weekend and am pleased with the results.

I did find some areas that I'd like to hit with a wool pad, but I only have the PC7424. Can I get some good results using a wool pad with a DA or do I really need to invest in a rotary?

I've got an 89 MasterCraft. She was pretty oxidized when I first got her 12 years ago. I have achieved decent results using the PC7424 with orange and white LC CCS pads. Now, I just maintain with Collinite 920 Fiberglass Boat Cleaner followed by the 925 Fiberglass Boat Wax. I am curious to see if the 476 would last longer though.

I don't think you really need to invest in a rotary. If you had an oxidized gelcoat, I still think you could use the PC and get good results.

Glad the vinegar worked. That is a very cool color.
