+1 on giving Buff Magic a try. Actually, 3M offers similar paste type marine products tailored specifically for the marine industry, as does a few other manufacturers like Aqua Buff...and all of them could actually be relabeled products produced by one company. Would be something to look into.

Pink Buff Magic is typically all you hear/see talked about and sold, but they do offer a more aggressive white Buff Magic...couple that using the pink after the white and you're sure to have a winning combination...though pink may suffice on its own. It's a solid product for gel-coat work that doesn't get the attention I think it should. I've never seen a write-up here on its use, I don't think. I know that it along with a rotary and wool is awesome. No reason the 3401 and the right pad with more Buff Magic couldn't finish up nicely...and hologram free to boot. Perhaps it abrasive technology is inferior to more modern products, IDK. Seems to work just fine for some manufacturers, then again, most are building only white colored boats, thus the finish won't show holograms easily.
