Autogeek carries both the pink and white by ShurHold.
They are great paste(dry) compounds, if you prefur a wet compound,
the 3M Imperial Compound will give you pretty much the same results.

I believe they are DAT so they actually polish out well on gelcoat even with wool.

What do you mean "even with whool"?

    Hi freedre,

I was refurring to a wool pad.

If you are used to the auto world of clearcoats, a wool pad is not the pad of choice
for polishing a surface. In the gelcoat world, you can actually polish down the surface to a
show room surface with a wool pad, right compound and some surface prepwork.

It all depends on the West Marine in your area. They are supposed to carry the stuff, but I have noticed that they're stocking less and less of it over time.

I was buffing out the side of an RV (gel-coat) the other week and ran out of Buff Magic. I reached for some Meg's 105 and used a yellow pad on the Flex 3401. I followed up using an orange pad with some polish and I got much better results that using a wool pad on my Makita Rotary. I know, it doesn't sound legit, but it came out with a better shine.

Re: Thinking of skipping Buff Magic and wetsanding?

I always try to use AutoGeek for our products. And we do for products
we like but can't get wholesale.(Sales tax exemption).

The problem is that Autogeek is a retailer and so is this forum.
So I don't feel it's fair to Autogeek to share better product prices on this forum.

There's not a big enough market in the Marine and RV world of detailing
for Autogeek to get really involved.
