Need new Tire ideas with specs.
Hey everybody,I have a car that needs new tires. The tread is worn and the sides have small cracks and I do not really know what is the best tire manufacturer. I have michelin right now, but the problem is that they do not make the tire that came with the factory specs, so I want to know what would be a good tire to replace the ones I have. Here are the specs I will need to find a tire for.I want to purchase all season tires that are worth the money and have good quality and a quiet ride.

Re: Need new Tire ideas with specs.
You'll benefit most from a couple of things:
1: Check out forums dedicated to your specific vehicle. See what those guys are putting on their cars and how they like them.
2: Dedicated tire sites such as Discounttire.com, tirerack.com, etc. There you will find reviews of almost every tire they have available, and you can search based on price, tire size, speed ratings, treadwear, etc.
What tires may be great on a compact car might be terrible on a full sized sedan.
With that said, I've personally had good luck with Falken tires. I've had them on an SVT Contour, a Lincoln LS, and my current Mazda 6 and I haven't had any real complaints with them. I think you'll benefit, though, from my two suggestions above. Good luck!

Contential tires mate very well with Audi's; low noise and good durability.

So far I have heard great reviews about these:
Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread
Kumho Ecota 4x
Goodyear Assurance comfortread
Michelin Primacy mxv4
Im looking for a good tire to get max fuel economy and power without compromise. I just got the oil changed with quaker state and I want a tire that is all season that can increase fuel economy

I have 28 years with the largest independent tire dealer in the country. It depends mostly on what you want out of the tire...how you drive the car...road conditions...how long you plan on keeping it. The Primacy MXV4 is an excellent tire. Yokohama is also an excellent tire. Handling, ride quality, traction are pretty similar to the Michelins they don't last quite as long but usually save you quite a bit of money.

The other option would be to replace tires and wheels. Give the car a new look and get better traction and handling. The optional package that came on the car was a 17 inch wheel and 235/45R17's.

I used to work for Goodyear. We sold a lot of the Comfortred Touring's and people loved them. Extremely smooth and quiet tire with good life. The original Tripletred was so so, prematurely wear and got noisy. The new Tripletred all season is supposed to be better, but we never sold many of them down here in Florida.

I live in CT, The car is not that old,and has very low mileage at about 23,000 The current setup has michelins on, but they are worn and cracked on the side. I think that I want to just go for a new set of 4 tires. The problem is increasing fuel economy. Right now I have poor fuel economy due to bad traction and tire air pressure. I think im going to go for the michelins becuase I am going to keep the car for much longer. I also want to have something that lasts a long time.

Good choice. Alignment will also have an effect on the fuel mileage and tire wear. It would be a good idea to have that checked after get the new tires put on.
