21 get the 15 backing plate best of both worlds.

Get both. Then no decision issues.

Get both if you can. They're both great polishers.

    Re: rupes polisher help

I went with the 15, because the 21 has 7" of pad face - assuming you use the supplied BP and Rupe's pads. 7" is too big for modern cars IMO. Of course, you can get the 21 and put the BP on from the 15 - which may be worth it if your doing it for a business. But, I think if your only getting the 21, you will need the 5" BP to make it useful on many cars.

Run a 21 with 5inch pad. Great mix for finishing/cutting. 15 is more detailer friendly, as in weaker for non grunt work duty. 2 is best of both worlds!

The only difference between the too is the throw and thats it.

Well. The throw and vibration. My wife likes using the 15 over the 21. For what that's worth.

    Re: rupes polisher help

I went with the 15.. If I had to do it over, I think I would get the 21 with the 5" backing plate.. Keep in mind I have never used the 21 so I have never compared the two and there's absolutely nothing wrong with my 15.. I only say this cause I imagine with the larger throw I would get faster correction!! My decision was based on money though, $100 total with the price difference in the machine and extra backing plate. Not to mention I don't have any 6" or 7" pads!!
